OK, this time its for real. The brackets have been announced and the teams have earned their seeds. There is no sporting event that even comes close to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. This is the time of year that even the casual fan (or even non-fan) fills out a bracket and watches the event unfold. Alumni and fans of each school dream of being a Cinderella story or making a run for the National Championship.
This is also a great time of the year for those of us who love sports logos. Many of the smaller schools who make the tournament have some really great logos, like the obscure designs I discussed last week. This allows us to get a look at many we have never seen before. It is also a time to showcase all of the biggest schools and see the colors, logos and mascots take center stage on the national spotlight.
As the tournament moves along, we will take a look at the teams in the tournament from a logo perspective. Each day will of the tournament will feature teams we know and teams we don't know. As the tournament moves along, others can break down the games, but we'll look at the event from a design perspective and enjoy the "graphics of the game"!
